THE RIGHT CHANNEL
KEY VERSE:
"Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee" (Psalm 102:1).
People respond differently to crisis. Some wait until things become worse; others visit questionable places and persons thereby compounding their challenges. Those who know God and what He can do go to Him in faith and come out of their crisis clean as conquerors. How Christians respond to crisis should make a difference. The Psalmist went through the right channel. He cried out to God while in crisis. The intensity of his prayer could be measured by the depth of his calamity. His misery was so great that he asked God for deliverance from the situation. As believers, in periods of crisis, we must not allow doubts and fear to affect our faith, but we must, in the midst of our crises, comfort ourselves with the word of God. We must turn to the word of God which is able to illuminate our hearts and chart a way out. Regardless of the storms, His words will not disappoint us. It will restore our hope, rejuvenate our enthusiasm, brighten our countenance, reinvigorate us and fill our faith with strength to push on. In crisis situation, let God be our mainstay. It does not matter therefore how a person is afflicted or tempted; what matters is how every trying situation is handled. For every dark phase in life, however, please understand that weeping (suffering) has a short span; joy will always emerge ultimately.
Thought for the day:Saturate yourself with God’s word and you shall not sink under the weight of earth’s crises.
